The Macallan Exceptional Casks series was relaunched in 2017. The range takes its name from a number of single cask bottlings Macallan released during the 1990s, which are often described as some of "the greatest Macallan of them all."
Distilled on the 11th August 2003 and bottled over 14 years later after maturing in single European Oak Sherry Butt #9064 (Ref: 2018/ESB-9064/03)
Selected by Macallan Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess, this was the third cask to be reserved for the 2018 series on 21st December of the previous year.
Nose: Rounded and balanced, with rich dates and sultanas. Hints of toffee and chocolate.
Taste: Full bodied with sweet toffee and oak, juicy raisins with a background of ground ginger
Finish: Lasting sweet mouth coating.
